Companion Grave Markers specifically made for more than
one loved that would like to be memorialized together..
Companion Grave Markers can be made of Granite or
Bronze.
There are also 2 types. Side by side grave markers that
are made for loved ones who are layed to rest next to
each other.
The other type of Companion Grave Marker is a double
interment Grave Marker.
This type of Grave Marker is used when the plot of both
deceased are 1 grave wide and 2 graves deep. It is
important to know which kind you have because a double
interment will have restrictions on the size even though the
grave marker is for 2 loved ones/
One of our most asked questions is. How do I have the
second name put on the grave marker when the time
comes if only one loved one has passed when the marker
is purchased the grave marker.
If the grave marker is granite, then a lettering engraver
would come out to the cemetery and engrave it when that
time comes. Usually you can let your Funeral Director
know and he can arrange it for you.
If the grave marker is a Bronze grave marker, then you
must purchase a bronze scroll with the date of passing that
needs to be attached to the existing grave marker.
When it comes to choosing which type of grave marker -
Bronze grave markers vs. Granite grave markers, it is best
to check with the Cemetery first. They may have
regulations about which type is allowed.
Some Cemeteries that call themselves Memorial Parks
usually have flat grass grave markers and may only allow
only allow either or - and not a choice of Bronze grave
markers or Granite grave markers.
